Email Lists, an international pattern of information sharing between a community of same interest and a modernized way of marketing and advertising. It is regarded as a tool which is even easier and time saving than paper mail, newsletters, marketing through diverse Medias. Is it not a fact that via email lists, the communication has reached to its heights?  Yes with this people feel safer and faster in maintaining link between each other. As a person is able to obtain a soft-copy of the subscribed information, it largely helps him fetching any detail anytime and anywhere.

In spite of some misuses of such services by placing bulk content in the database of the list there are many benefits such as cumulative sharing and access to database. These services provide allowance to each subscriber that on single complaint the email address creating commotion can be discarded from the mailing lists. The mechanism of the email list is simple; it completely supports all the programming needed to generate a dynamic information and up-gradation. The up-gradation of the list can be automated or manual. Automated up-gradation does not check content before placing on the email list while manual needs approval by moderator. Time to time, a moderator edits the list as per the information received by the subscribers. Also, a moderator will be able to track the responses of the subscribers that can vary from auto-responded message or fake id with ‘no response’ even!

The mailing lists differ from a Spam list, they have an authenticated response via subscribers that involves filling up particular information and an acceptance form is generated indeed while Spam list involves forcefully sending emails to the group of people without any solicited content in the email. The content may or may not be relevant to the topic and can be obscured according to subscribers.
